the liven
Has anyone here actually used Liven in real life, like while eating out or ordering food? I’m curious how it really works in a real setting — I get the idea that they combine fintech and hospitality, but does it feel like something new when you use it? Or is it just another rewards app with crypto buzzwords slapped on top? I’d love to hear from someone who’s used it more than once.

I’ve used Liven a few times, mostly around Melbourne. The whole idea is pretty interesting once you go beyond the app interface and see how the actual reward model plays out. You pay through the app at partner restaurants, and a % of your bill is returned in LVN, which you can either spend later or donate. I think what makes it feel different is that you’re not locked into one place — the tokens work across their network, and it does make you think twice before choosing a random spot without Liven.
Also, some venues offer a higher LVN return during off-peak hours, which is kind of genius — like surge pricing, but in reverse. It encourages you to eat out when places are quieter. I saw this breakdown on their team/org structure, which helped me understand their fintech angle a bit more:

They’re building a whole ecosystem, not just a one-off app. Still has room to grow, but I’d say it’s more than just crypto sprinkled on food.
